Terms and Conditions for the Hire of a Wedding Venue

 

1. Booking and Payment:

   a. To secure the booking of the wedding venue, a deposit of £1,000.00 is required.

   b. The remaining balance must be paid 60 days prior to the event date.

   c. Payments can be made via cash, credit card, or bank transfer.

   d. Payment plans are available with a deposit of £1,000.00 and the remaining balance cleared 60 days prior to booking date. All payment plans will be bespoke to suit affordability with no interest charged. 

   e. Bank holiday weekend will acquire a charge of an addition £1,000.00. 

   f. Additional days on weekends weddings are available at an additional £1,000.00 charge.

2. Cancellation and Refunds:

   a. In the event of cancellation, where a deposit has only been paid the venue will retain a £250.00 cancellation fee.

   b. If cancellation occurs less than 100 days before the event, the venue will retain 50% of balance paid.

   c. Any request for cancellation must be made via email to info@thegranarycourtyard.com

 

3. Venue Usage:

   a. The wedding venue will be available for use from 10am the day before event date to 4pm the day after event date.

   b. Any additional time required beyond the agreed-upon hours will be subject to an additional fee.

   c. The venue must be left in the same condition as it was found. Any damages caused will be the responsibility of the hirer.

   d. A damage deposit of £500.00 is required within the final payment and will be refunded within 5 working days following the event once the relevant checks have been completed.

  e. The Four onsite cottages are included in the price of the venue hire where 3 day hire is booked and no discounts will be given for cottages not used. Accommodation check in is 4pm the day before and 10am the day after the event.

 

4. Guest Capacity:

   a. The maximum number of guests allowed in the venue is 150 during the day for a sit down meal and 250 in an evening. However we can cater for larger parties so please get in touch for more information.

   b. The hirer must provide a final guest list to the venue management 14 days prior to the event.

   c. The hirer is responsible for making all guests aware of health & safety procedures, fire assembly point & smoking areas. 

 

5. Catering, Alcohol & Third Party Suppliers:

   a. The hirer may choose their own catering service or use the venue's approved caterers.

   b. The venue management must be informed of the chosen caterer at least 14 days prior to the event.

   c. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that any alcohol served for welcome drinks and table wine at the event complies with local laws and regulations.

   d. 1856 Bar will be stocked and staffed by The Granary Courtyard. Drinks packages are available upon request for table wine & welcome drinks however the venue hirer has permission to source table wine & welcome drinks else where and will be charged no corkage.

   e. The hirer must supply a list to the venue within 14 days of the event day stating all third party suppliers who will be supplying the event.

 

6. Liability and Insurance:

   a. The hirer is responsible for any loss, damage, or injury caused by themselves, their guests, or any third parties during the event.

   b. The venue management will not be held liable for any loss, damage, or injury to the hirer, their guests, or their property during the event.

   c. The hirer is advised to obtain appropriate insurance coverage for the event where neccasary.

 

7. Noise and Disturbance:

   a. The hirer must ensure that noise levels are kept at a reasonable level, especially during late hours, to avoid disturbing neighbouring properties.

   b. The venue management reserves the right to intervene if noise levels become excessive and may request the hirer to reduce the volume or terminate the event.

 

8. Termination:

   a. The venue management reserves the right to terminate the event if the hirer fails to comply with the terms and conditions stated herein.

   b. In the event of termination, no refund will be provided.
